Friends and Alumni
Over the past few years, the OSU Cycling Club has
experienced phenomenal growth, with over 100% increase in active members last
year! We’ve sent riders to nationals for the last 5 years—highlighted by a 5
place in the women’s road race, and an 11th place team finish at
Madison, Wisconsin in 2004. We've also introduced many new people to the world
of competitive cycling through our Loaner Bike Program where promising student
athletes are provided a road bike for the season. This year, over half of our
Nationals squad got their start in bike racing through this program
Any cyclist knows that the cost of the sport can be daunting. Part of the OSU
Cycling Club's mission is to facilitate participation in the sport by helping
with some of those costs. In years past, the club has been able to greatly
subsidize race costs by helping out with hotel and travel expenses for race
weekends. With rising gas costs and blossoming membership, supporting our
members is becoming increasingly difficult.
With these things in mind, the OSU Cycling Club would like to invite you to
show your support for a wonderful student organization by joining the newly
formed OSU Cycling Friends and Alumni Association.
Benifits of membership include:
- Opportunity to purchase the current years’ team clothing. (Only older designs are available for retail sale at Bike Source)
- 15% discount on all purchases except bicycles at Bike Source
- That great feeling you get from helping to continue the tradition of collegiate cycling at Ohio State
Dues for former OSU Cycling Club members in the first 3
years after graduation will be $25, and dues for all other alumni and friends
will be $50 (though additional support is appreciated).
Please contact Liz Freudenberger (freudenberger.1@osu.edu) to join today or
with questions. Checks can be mailed to (address) or a credit card may be used
through our Paypal account. (Details)
Further announcements to the Friends and Alumni Association will be made on
the Yahoo Groups listserve

Thank you for your continued involvement and support,
